A field guide to the wildlife of Old Down, built by Sarah — and a good way to find out what you're looking at.
Nature Spotter covers 190 species recorded on Old Down: wildflowers, butterflies and moths, birds, mammals, beetles, reptiles and amphibians, trees and shrubs — and the tracks and signs that tell you an animal has been there even when you don't see it.
You can search by common or Latin name, narrow it down to one kind of thing, or ask what's about right now — handy on a Thursday morning when you want to know what you might reasonably hope to find. Species that are particularly special to Old Down are marked as such, and you can tick off the ones you've seen as you go.
