Lend a hand on Old Down

We're a friendly group of volunteers who look after Old Down — home to pyramidal orchids, butterflies and far more. Come and join us.

What to expect

Practical conservation

Hands-on habitat work that keeps the grassland and woodland in good shape for wildlife. Do as much or as little as you like.

No experience needed

Everything is explained on the day. Just bring sturdy shoes, clothes you don't mind getting muddy, and yourself.

Good company

A couple of hours outdoors with friendly people — and the orchids, butterflies and birds that make Old Down special.
